Bible Methodist School Dress Code

K5 - 4th Grade:

K5 – 4th Grade Girls:

Girls may wear skirts (or polo dresses for K5 – 2nd) that must come to the middle of the knee when standing and sitting . Shirts must be polo-style, solid color, with no more than five buttons and a fold down collar. Shirts must have short or long sleeves; no cap sleeves or sleeveless shirts are allowed. Shirts, skirts and polo dresses may be purchased at the clothing store of your choice.

Socks must be worn with all shoes. Tennis shoes will be required to participate in P.E. class. No makeup, nail polish or jewelry is allowed. Students may not wear any type of drawings or markings on their body including temporary tattoos. In reference to the student handbook, girl’s hair should be allowed to grow longer through the entire school year.

K5 – 4th Grade Boys:

Boys must wear jeans (that are blue or black in color) or khaki pants. Standard 4-pocket jeans are preferred, but cargo and carpenter type jeans are allowed. Jeans with holes will not be allowed except for P.E. No exercise or sweat pants are permitted. Shirts must be polo-style, solid color with no more than 5 buttons and a fold down collar. Shirts must have short or long sleeves; no cap sleeves or sleeveless shirts are allowed. Shirts and pants may be purchased at the clothing store of your choice.

Students may not wear any type of drawings or markings on their body including temporary tattoos. In reference to the student handbook, boy’s haircuts must be a short masculine cut. Half of the forehead should be showing. Hair must not touch the ear or the collar.

Each parent/guardian should read and understand the dress code guidelines set forth by Bible Methodist Christian School.  Parent/guardian agree to abide by the dress code and be respectful at all times including all school functions.  Parent/guardian understands dress code is subject to the principal's discretion at all times.

After the first dress code offence, a courtesy note will be send home.  This must be signed by the parent/guardian and returned the following day.  For each additional offense, the parent/guardian will be notified and asked to bring the child the correct uniform before he/she will be permitted to attend class.  The student will be required to complete all the assignments that were missed while waiting on the proper uniform.

5th-12th Grades:

5th – 12th Grade Girls:

Girls will be required to wear navy blue or khaki skirts. A suggestion from the Uniform Committee would be to purchase the “Kick Pleat Skirt” from French Toast, www.frenchtoast.com, since it most closely meets our uniform code. The length must be below the knee while standing or sitting. Splits must not be higher than the middle of the knee; side splits are not allowed. Skirts may be purchased at the clothing store of your choice. Shirts must be polo-style, solid color, with no more than five buttons and a fold down collar and may be purchased from the clothing store of your choice. Students cannot have more than two buttons undone on the shirt from the collar. Sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn over the uniform shirt in the wintertime. No offensive logos will be allowed.

Girls may wear hose and/or socks. Sandals with straps may be worn. Foundation or un-tinted face powder may be used for blemish purposes only. No blush, rouge, eyeliner, mascara or eye shadow will be allowed. No jewelry or colored nail polish is allowed. Clear nail polish and white French tips are acceptable.

No bleached or dyed hair. In reference to the student handbook, girl’s hair should be allowed to grow longer through the entire school year. Students may not wear any type of drawings or markings on their body, including temporary tattoos.

Girls will be allowed to wear jean or athletic skirts for P.E. class. Skirts must be full enough to participate in sports and other activities modestly, and splits must not be above the knee. T-shirts must be purchased through the school for P.E. Tennis shoes and socks will be required for P.E.

5th – 12th Grade Boys:

Boys will wear navy blue or khaki pants. Pants may be purchased at the clothing store of your choice. They are to be standard 4-pocket style; cargo or carpenter type pants are not allowed. Flat front or pleated pants are both acceptable. Shirts must be polo-style, solid color with no more than five buttons and a fold down collar. Shirts may be purchased from the clothing store of your choice. Students cannot have more than two buttons undone on the shirt from the collar. Sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn over the uniform shirt in the wintertime. No offensive logos will be allowed.

Belts must be worn at all times. Socks must be worn. Sandals with straps may be worn but must be accompanied by socks. Boys will be allowed to wear jeans or athletic pants for P.E. class. T-shirts must be purchased through the school for P.E. Tennis shoes and socks will be required for P.E.
